AI Use Statement
At Grice Legal, we use carefully selected artificial intelligence and technology-assisted tools to support the delivery of legal services. AI assists our team with tasks such as document review, drafting support, research and administration, but it does not replace the professional judgement of our lawyers. All legal advice remains subject to human review, professional responsibility and our obligations of confidentiality.

Our Approach to Artificial Intelligence
At Grice Legal, we are committed to providing high-quality legal services while embracing technology that improves efficiency, consistency and client service. As part of this commitment, we may use artificial intelligence (AI) and other technology-assisted tools to support certain aspects of our practice.
Our use of AI is guided by our professional obligations, including duties of competence, confidentiality, supervision, independence and the provision of legal advice that is tailored to each client's circumstances.
How We Use AI
We may use AI and technology-assisted tools to assist with:
document drafting and formatting;
summarising documents and correspondence;
legal research support;
information retrieval and knowledge management;
document review and analysis;
administrative and workflow tasks;
meeting and file note preparation;
client service and communication support;
data organisation and business process improvement.
AI may assist our lawyers and staff, but it does not replace professional legal judgement.
Human Oversight
All legal advice provided by Grice Legal is subject to review and professional judgement by appropriately qualified legal practitioners.
We do not provide legal advice solely through AI systems.
Where AI tools are used in connection with legal work, outputs are reviewed and assessed by our legal team before being relied upon or provided to clients.
AI Technologies We May Use
From time to time, we may utilise technology platforms that incorporate AI capabilities, including:
Microsoft 365 and related services;
Microsoft Copilot;
LEAP Legal Software;
LEAP AI;
document automation platforms;
legal research and productivity tools; and
other professional technology solutions used in the operation of our practice.
The technology platforms we use may change over time as technology develops and our business requirements evolve.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Protecting client confidentiality remains fundamental to our legal practice.
Where AI-enabled systems are used, we take reasonable steps to ensure that information is handled in accordance with:
our professional obligations;
applicable privacy laws;
our Privacy Policy;
contractual confidentiality requirements; and
relevant cybersecurity and data protection measures.
We seek to use reputable service providers and technology platforms that maintain appropriate security and privacy controls.
Limitations of AI
AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or misleading information.
For this reason:
AI outputs are treated as assistance tools and not authoritative sources;
factual, legal and procedural content may require independent verification;
AI-generated content may contain errors; and
professional legal judgement remains essential.
Clients should not assume that any document, advice or communication has been generated solely by AI or that AI has replaced legal review.
Responsible Use of AI
We aim to use AI responsibly and ethically.
Our approach includes:
maintaining human oversight of legal services;
protecting client confidentiality;
monitoring risks associated with AI use;
complying with applicable laws and professional standards;
using AI only where it is appropriate for the task being performed; and
continually reviewing emerging developments in technology, privacy and professional regulation.
Client Information
We do not sell client information to AI providers.
Where personal information is processed through third-party technology platforms, such processing occurs only for legitimate business, operational or legal service purposes and is managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Additional information regarding the collection, use and handling of personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
